Week 2: Googling Technique

"A mind that is stretched by a new experience can never go back to its old dimensions." - Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr.

For this week activity, I had studied beforehand as we are going to teach our foster siblings on Advanced Searching Technique with Google. I want to give them the best learning experience. This week's activity has brought me to a whole new level as it is also something new for me. It's like killing two birds with one stone as I had also gain benefits from this activity.

Before the class started, there was a problem in the labs booked. However, we were lucky because there's a screenshot about booking the Cube in block A. Hence, we decided to conjoint everyone in the Cube and use the projector as the teaching tool. Briefing were given to our foster sisters and brothers.

As I had studied the materials given beforehand, I was asked to teach them. Here are some summary that I made based on the materials given :

3.1
* tesla coil - to search "tesla coil"
* tesla coil site:.gov - to search "tesla coil" & gov website
* tesla coil site: .gov - to search "tesla coil" & gov website & "site"

3.2
* The Lewis and Clark Expedition filtype:kml - to download kml file & apply to Google Map

3.3
* salsa -dancing - to search salsa excluding salsa dancing

3.4
* "when venus the goddess of beauty and love" - to search for the exact phase
* red OR blue - to search both terms

3.5
* intext:geophysics - to search the term "geophysics" in the page
* Advanced Search in Google Setting

After that, all of us taught our foster siblings the technique that had been explained besides letting them explore other things that Google had provide. Apart from teaching, I also managed to get to know my foster sister, Adani more. She told me that she have tuition classes during the school break, so she couldn't go anywhere far. She said that she was doing fine on her examination last week. In addition, I got to know that she likes pink and dislike green.

Well, I hope that she will get plenty of rest next week because there's no class. I low-key hoped that she will participate more actively in the future.
